John is a Filipino American who began his formal movement training much later in life than most people despite being active throughout his youth. Drawing upon his experiences in martial arts, personal training, and dance, his exercise philosophy revolves around the concept of "functional training." He believes that your training should make your daily activities easier and more enjoyable to do, whether it be playing sports, playing with your kids, or sitting upright and playing an instrument. This is where GYROTONIC® fits in. John considers that among all the exercise systems out there, GYROTONIC® should be a part of everyone's life, a staple in their movement repertoire. Simply put, it makes living your life easier and more enjoyable. John has had the privilege of studying under Billy Macagnone, Sebastian Plettenberg, Juergen Bamberger, Young-Ah Kim, and Michelle Spinner. He is a certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor, Pilates apparatus and mat instructor, and TRX® personal and group trainer.
