PILATES BASED CONDITIONING
Joseph Pilates and Benefits of his Technique
Pilates is named after the inventor, Joseph H. Pilates: a boxer and
dancer who also studied yoga and Zen meditation. His technique
encompasses more than 500 controlled, precise movements designed to
strengthen and stretch without adding bulk.
Each exercise requires concentration: always working with the body
and the mind. Exercises focus on core muscles including those in the
abdominal region which support good posture, and bring ease and
power to walking, lifting, dancing, and sports activities. It will
also improve breathing and circulation to the internal organs.
Private
Lessons on the Machines
Pilates Equipment is designed to aid in training the body. Sessions
are taught one-on-one by certified instructor who have extensive
knowledge of the body and the Pilates Method. Each session is
tailored to the specific needs and goals of the client. Trainers can
focus on toning particular areas of the body, rehabilitating an
injury, bringing relaxation and strength to the body, or
activity-specific training such as dance, martial arts, or a
particular sport.
We would be happy to give you a tour of the studio and answer any questions you have about Pilates training.
